What a top month May has been and the last 3 days have epic !!! The plan today was take gear to the Dip,have a leisurely breakfast and a walk to the ferry but Mark S (fresh from yesterdays walk) was rigged and ready to go at 10 with flat water (low tide) and 13kts+ on the gauge. So a quick cuppa then rigged and out with the carve and 8.5 which was right for the conditions.A beat up to the R.Deben mouth where I found some flat water and recorded my best times here. You had to sail through the rough water then turn broad into the flat water and head staight toward the beach flat out and try to stop before you lost your fin in the shallows !!! I then had a mega 4 mile broad reach out and back to The Dip.Here I borrowed a starboard hypersonic wood 125 for several runs and really loved it,ebay here I come, unless someone out there has one forsale ??? (please email) I then had a quick go on the xantos but had trouble staying upwind,I don't think this board likes 8.5m.So a top day of 50nm in the sunshine and not many out today which I could'nt make out!!! Then a quick walk with Mag and home to clean the van :)
